Forming an Alliance

Client: Alliance Sub-regional Strategic Partnership (SSP)

WHEN an agency charged with helping to boost the economies of North Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire needed to get its good news across to its partners and publics, it turned to Aura PR.

With an experienced team of in-house journalists on hand, Newark-based Aura developed a PR plan to promote the work of the Alliance Sub-regional Strategic Partnership (SSP).

Aura’s publicity of Alliance events, targets and its new website, aimed at the business community within North Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire, resulted in coverage in local newspapers and on radio stations.

Formerly the North Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire SSP, the Alliance was first formed in 2002 and is one of seven SSPs in the East Midlands that help to deliver the Regional Economic Strategy, as prepared by the East Midlands Development Agency (emda).

Based in a refurbished mill on the Pleasley Vale Business Park, the Alliance SSP’s objective is to mobilise local people and businesses to speed up economic development within the sub-region.

The Alliance SSP is determined that the sub-region will be recognised as a dynamic and leading contributor to the wealth and future economic success of the East Midlands.

Commenting on the appointment of Aura, the Alliance SSP’s Stefanie Stubbs, Strategic Partnership Manager for Employment and Skills, said: “We selected Aura PR due to the staff’s knowledge of, and enthusiasm for, the field of economic development, which is at the heart of our all the work at the SSP.

“Our corporate publicity campaign has gone well to date.

“Aura takes a proactive in approach, identifying wider opportunities for the SSP to publicise developments/projects of strategic importance in which we are either lead or an intrinsic partner.

“It is important to establish partnerships with local companies such as Aura.”
